About the role
- Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) when required / on behalf of clients
- Engaging regularly with clients and maintaining strong relationships
- Preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns including personals, company, and trust.
- Knowledge of Handisoft products, Xero, QuickBooks and other MYOB related products an advantage, or a willingness to learn these as well as our systems and procedures
- Preparation of Business Activity Statements
- Review financial statements, expenses and previous tax returns to identify the best strategy for completing future returns
- End to end tax compliance
- Exposure and experience with various taxation matters
- Identifying areas where clients and businesses can reduce tax, make claims and increase profit
- Understanding financial landscape and market trends
- Keep up to date with changes to the taxation legislation
- Organising and updating the company's tax database
- Regularly reviewing systems and making updates and improvements where necessary
